How will I use Voice Typing during Stage 2 of the Writing Process for Drafting, Designing, Evaluating and/or Researching?
Accessing Voice Typing
Open up a Google Doc, Go to Tools and scroll down to Voice typing. Click Voice typing and a floating microphone box will appear to the left. Click on the microphone.
Once the microphone is activated you will see the read recording circle. (Most recording applications use the color red to note that you are recording.)
Remind students to talk slowly and enunciate. Some students use this tool in conjunction with Read and Write during Stage 2 of writing.
Voice Typing for Teaching and Learning
